Enjoy these October Special Events


Old Settlers Days - October 5th & 6th

 
Make plans to attend Old Settlers Days on the grounds of The John Hay Center from 10:00am to 4:00pm on both Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th.


Enjoy taking a stroll through the Stevens Memorial Museum, Pioneer Village, John Hay Birthplace, and Depot Railroad Museum. Float around the grounds and see all the local craft vendors, and maybe pick up a spot of lunch too from the food vendors like the wonderful Canton Christian Church Ladies!

 

They will also be having a Take What You Want, Pay What You Want yard sale, which we are still accepting donations for until 5:00pm on Friday, October 4th. 

 


October Bash and Community Yard Sale - October 5th

Please join TITAN Tint and Graphics for their second annual October Bash, a free family fun day filled with activities and crafts and a Community Yard Sale.

 

October Bash


They will have a bounce house, Car bash, pumpkin bash, make your own candy apple, decorate your own cookie, a smores making station, face painting, pumpkin painting, cake walk, and much more. So come on out to our free event that will be held at Titan's shop here in Salem and enjoy a free day of family fun.


Community Yard Sale


Titan will be hosting a community wide yard sale at their shop Saturday October 5th along with their free event the October Bash on the same day. There is no charge to set up and it will be held indoors at Titan's shop. We do have a limited amount space of around 40 tables. So we do need you to contact us and reserve space. We will time the day before to allow vendors to set up on Friday from 8:00 am-6:30p.m or the morning of we will open the doors for the vendors at 8:00a.m. an hour before the yard sale will start. Please get a hold of us if you'd like to reserve space for the yard sale.

Glow in the Dark Pumpkin Hunt at Cornucopia Farm - Oct 4th and 5th

 


Search for your pumpkin after dark in the field at Cornucopia Farm. Let the glowing pumpkins light the way. Each participant gets special glow gear and some of the pumpkins will have prizes associated with them!


Participants must be at the farm by 7:30pm. We will begin loading the wagons to leave promptly at 8:00pm for the hunt.


Tickets includes a pumpkin to take home and access to ALL of the General Admission activities: petting farm, giant slides, straw house, putt putt golf, barnyard basketball, tumbling tiles, and more! Come to the farm during general admission hours (10am-7pm) to enjoy those activities then check in @7:30 pm for the Pumpkin Glow.


Rain out day will be Sunday Oct 6th. at the same time

Live Music at Hunter's Ridge Winery - October 6th

 

 

The Salty Dogs will be performing from 2:00pm - 5:00pm at Hunter's Ridge Winery. The winery is located at 9945 E Garrison Hollow Rd in Salem. Hunter's Ridge is kid and pet friendly & love seeing the whole family enjoying a day out! No outside alcohol please.‍


Fall Festival at the Hardinsburg General Store - October 11th


The Hardinsburg General Store invites you out as they will have TONS of vendors, food trucks, and so much more!

Town of Pekin Annual Trunk or Treat and Movie Night - October 12


Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 12 for the Town of Pekin's annual Trunk or Treat, and stay for a showing of Disney's "Halloweentown!"


Trunk or Treat will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM and the movie will start right after.


The Washington County Family YMCA gives a heartfelt thanks to the Town of New Pekin and Washington County Community Foundation for their support in continuing Substance Free Alternative Events throughout Washington County.



‍‍Looking for a Haunting Adventure this Halloween?


Join Salem High School Disney Club and Boy Scout Troop 4029 at Buffalo Trace Park on October 12nd from dusk to 10:30pm for a haunted trail that will have you running through the woods!


The ghouls and goblins will appear for the cost of only $5 cash/ $6 card per person. Proceeds will support the youth group in their other adventures. We hope to see you there. Kids five and under are free.

‍Cornucopia Farm Special Events

Cornucopia Farm is Southern Indiana's Premier Family Fun Farm. The farm includes corn and soybean mazes, petting farm, pumpkin patches and sunflower and Zinnia field experiences. Cornucopia Farm offers something for all ages. With sweet treats, delicious burgers and more available at the Café no one in the family will go hungry! The farm is just 10 miles East of Salem off of Highway 56.
