Enjoy blooming landscapes and fresh energy of spring as we invite you to explore a full calendar of events, shopping and local flavors.

 


‍Healthy Kids Day & Groundbreaking at the YMCA - April 18th


250th Anniversary Parade in Salem - April 18th

‍The City of Salem is still actively seeking participants for this patriotic parade, so if you know of anyone or any organization that should be involved please have them contact city hall for more information!

 


‍Run for the Tulips 5K - April 18th


‍Beck's Mill Spring Wildflower Walk and Chicken Barbeque - April 18th


Celebrating “The shots heard around the world” in honor of our Nation’s 250th birthday along with a  Spring Wildflower Nature Hike/Chicken Barbecue April 18.  

 

Nature hike begins at 10:00am, $10.00 and requires a reservation by calling and leaving a message at 812-883-5147. Hike will be led by DNR naturalist, Jeremy Beavin. Chicken Barbecue begins at 11:00am.

 

Chicken meal price $10.00 includes 2 sides. Benefits the mill & Mt. Carmel Cemetery fund. 

 


‍The American Revolution with Dr. Fadely at The Depot - April 19th


The John Hay Center welcomes our next 250th Celebration event!


Historian Dr. James Fadely will be visiting us at the Depot Railroad Museum at 2:00PM to dive deep into the history of the American Revolution. Admission: $10 for WCHS Members $12 for non-members
