Blue River Quaker Settlement Rural Historic District -
Board Approved - April 2025

In a recent meeting the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Historic Review Board has approved the application submitted for Rural Historic District Status for the Blue River Settlement. The meeting was held on April 16th in Indianapolis at Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park Lodge. The Historic Review Board heard nominations from approximately 15 different organizations around the state. The review board voted unanimously to approve the Blue River application.

The Review Board approval means that the application will be forwarded to the National Park Service in Washington D.C. The determination for National Register status should be received in 6-8 weeks.
